After a long career in banking that included traveling around the world, Lisa Johnstone joined Davidson, Jamieson & Associates as office manager. Lisa’s banking career included work with four different banks and was Vice President of Corporate Audits for one institution before retiring.
As a friendly and energetic professional, Lisa looks forward to keeping DJA organized. She tried retirement for a 6 weeks following her busy banking posts, but realized she wasn’t ready to totally step back from the workforce. Lisa, who holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification and attended Adelphi University in New York, is excited to bring her project and team leadership skills to the firm.
In her spare time, Lisa plays golf and travels. She also enjoys spending time with her granddaughter.
Kris Kuhle, EA, enjoys the family, friendly atmosphere at Davidson, Jamieson & Associates as well as the close relationships with clients whether it be problem solving or helping them grow. She possesses extensive experience dealing with accounting and tax issues of businesses and individuals with over 20 years of experience in tax, accounting and auditing.
Kris is an Enrolled Agent (EA) with the IRS. She graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She received her Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Tax from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. She is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Tax Professionals.
In her spare time, Kris enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking throughout the Tampa Bay area and vacationing in the mountains.
Karen Curran, CPA, CVA, joined Davidson, Jamieson & Associates in 2012 as a litigation manager. She enjoys the firm’s family environment, as well as the opportunity to get to know clients and help them understand complex concepts.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida and a Master of Taxation from the University of South Florida. After her first job with a local accounting firm, she spent a few years as a supervising senior accountant with KPMG Peat Marwick. Karen realized she missed the community feel of a local firm and ultimately landed with DJA following work with two other Bay area firms. She has over 20 years of public accounting experience in audit, tax, business valuation and consulting, and litigation support. Karen often serves as an expert witness for marital dissolutions.
In addition to her CPA license, Karen is a certified valuation analyst. She has also served as an adjunct faculty member for Webster University and the University of Phoenix. Her graduate and undergraduate courses include finance, taxation, general business, and accounting.
When she isn’t working or teaching, Karen enjoys reading, bicycling, and going to the beach. As an empty-nester, she also loves to travel.
As a CPA, Taylor Mitchell enjoys working closely with clients, particularly helping businesses with their financials and individuals with IRA tax strategies. The family feel of Davidson, Jamieson & Associates appealed to him, as did the ability to get to know his clients well. He has over 10 years of experience with corporate and individual tax preparation, and is licensed as a CPA in both Kentucky and Florida.
While at the University of Kentucky, he majored in accounting and finance. He later attended the University of South Florida, where he took additional accounting courses.
When not working, Taylor enjoys playing tennis and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. He is a board member of the University of Kentucky Tampa Bay Alumni Association. He and his fiancé love to travel and spend time with their golden retriever.
After over 25 years in trust banking, Harry Jamieson left his corporate life behind and decided to join forces with John Davidson to found Davidson, Jamieson & Associates. That was 25 years ago. Since then, he has focused on personal and estate taxation, trust and estate management, and financial and estate planning for the public accounting firm.
Harry has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. He is also a graduate of the National Trust School at Northwestern University and holds an associate degree in banking and finance from St. Petersburg College. He is an accredited estate planner (AEP). Prior to moving into public accounting, Harry last served as vice president and trust officer heading statewide tax compliance for wealth management relationships at AmSouth Bank of Florida, now part of Regions Bank.
Harry, who is an Eagle Scout, has been an active member of his community for years, serving in a variety of leadership positions for different organizations. He is a former president of the Suncoast Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Since the early 1970s, Harry has been a member of both Sertoma International, where he served as president of the local chapter, and the Clearwater Yacht Club. He was president as well as a trustee of the Upper Pinellas Association of Retarded Citizens. He twice has served as director of his homeowners association.
Harry is happily married to his high school sweetheart for over 53 years and has two grown children, both of whom work in Law Enforcement.
When John Davidson first started working at the Dunedin-based accounting firm that now bears his name, he never imagined he would one day own it. That was until the day 25 years ago when the former owner announced he was joining their largest client and told John to buy the firm. When during his search for a partner John met Harry Jamieson, he knew they would work well together and Davidson, Jamieson & Associates was born.
John is a graduate of the University of Alabama. He has been practicing public accounting since 1976. In addition to his CPA license, John is a certified valuation analyst (CVA) and is also certified in financial forensics (CFF). John began his career at a southeastern regional accounting firm, working his way up to partner in charge of tax for four offices in North Carolina.
His primary areas of practice are tax, litigation support, business valuations, forensic accounting, and business consulting. He is a former chairman of both the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ litigation support committee and the Florida Institute of Federal Taxation.
John has been married for 38 years and has two grown sons. When not working, he enjoys scuba diving and underwater photography.
