When John Davidson first started working at the Dunedin-based accounting firm that now bears his name, he never imagined he would one day own it. That was until the day 25 years ago when the former owner announced he was joining their largest client and told John to buy the firm. When during his search for a partner John met Harry Jamieson, he knew they would work well together and Davidson, Jamieson & Associates was born.
John is a graduate of the University of Alabama. He has been practicing public accounting since 1976. In addition to his CPA license, John is a certified valuation analyst (CVA) and is also certified in financial forensics (CFF). John began his career at a southeastern regional accounting firm, working his way up to partner in charge of tax for four offices in North Carolina.
His primary areas of practice are tax, litigation support, business valuations, forensic accounting, and business consulting. He is a former chairman of both the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ litigation support committee and the Florida Institute of Federal Taxation.
John has been married for 38 years and has two grown sons. When not working, he enjoys scuba diving and underwater photography.
